Tanning is a growing market segment that is in a desperate need for a new technology. Most tanning beds today use mercury tubes. Mercury is a notorious pollutant and the tubes' flux is very inconsistent over their lifetime; dropping upto 50% over 500 hours. Mercury tubes also emit UVB rays which cause skin aging and in some cases Melanoma.
